Biography
Attracted by Ypsilanti's diverse and affordable neighborhoods, I moved with my wife Shari to our home on the eastside of Ypsilanti in 1984. Here we raised our two daughters who both attended Ypsilanti Public Schools. I work locally as the Beverage Coordinator for the two Ann Arbor Plum Markets. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Throughout my 40 years here, I have proudly participated in many community roles to help make our city safer, stronger, and more connected. In our small city, neighbors feel like extended family. I am running for Ypsilanti's Ward 3 City Council seat because I want more residents to be heard. Our community deserves representation that listens to and uplifts our eclectic range of voices. I also feel we need wisdom in leadership to make responsible decisions with our budget and to invest to make our city sustainable for generations. I will elevate our pride, heritage, and diversity through experience, transparency, and community input to help our city thrive.
Additionally, I associate as a lifelong Democrat. But, oddly enough, on the ballot I'll be listed as "Unaffiliated." This is because of the partisan recall election rules. When the recalled incumbent is also a Democrat, they are granted the designation. However, regardless of titles and formalities, I will work to represent the broader community.
I look forward to connecting with you and would love to have your vote.
