"Elections are meaningful and how we vote has consequences. In the City of Ypsilanti election on May 7 th , I recommend that the voters of Ward 3 take a close look at candidate Rod Johnson. Although he is running in this race as an Independent, his philosophical base is Democratic, and he has worked on behalf of many Democrats. I like the fact that he has public service experience in several facets of city government including as Chair of the Planning Commission, a member of the recreation commission, and the Police Action Council. In all these assignments, he has demonstrated mature judgement, unifying leadership, and a passion for transparency.

Rod Johnson believes deeply, as I do, that public office is a public trust that requires being connected and responsive to the people you represent. I, therefore, recommend your highest consideration of Rod Johnson as your representative on City Council."
